Rapid Catalytic OxidationRapid Catalytic Oxidation (RCO) is a patented process developed by Alia Water that removes metals and metalloids from contaminated water. The RCO process has proven to remove contaminants from water more cost effectively and efficiently than any incumbent technology. RCO can be partnered to almost any incumbent water treatment process such as reverse osmosis and ion exchange to significantly expand the ability of the process to treat almost any water matrix with high metal/metalloid contamination.RCO can treat the following metals/metalloi♠ds: (1) Manganese RCO has the following advantages: (1) Effective Metal and Metalloid RemovalRCO is more effective than any incumbent technology at extracting metals and metalloids from water. Our technology can treat water contaminated with very high levels of metals and metalloids (including iron, manganese, aluminum, arsenic) to trace level more effectively than any water treatment process.(2) Lower Capital & Running CostRCO uses catalytic reactions to accelerate the oxidation of mineral contaminants. The rapid speed at which the catalytic process works facilitates the use of oxidants. RCO water treatment plants uses cost-effective oxidants and operate at relatively low pressure (between 10 – 30% compared to reverse osmosis). As a matter of fact, RCO uses considerably less energy and therefore its operating cost is a lot lower than other water treatment processes. Due to the low operating pressure, it favours a lower service and maintenance on-going cost. In addition, the initial capital cost of RCO plants are often significantly cheaper compared to other existing Water Treatment Plant (WTP).(3) Lower Energy Intensive ProcessTypical design pressure in RCO treatment plants is 2.5 bar (250kPa) with effective running pressure of less than 1 bar compared to other processes such as reverse osmosis, which has operating pressures of 30-40 bar. Therefore, RCO provides a safer environment where high pressure instrumentations, fittings and equipments are not required in the process.Use & Application RCO process is typically used for the following purposes:
